I Farmed locally for 1 year. Steve Hendricks and I joined the Navy together in March of 1961. After Basic Training, I went to Navy Electronics School at San Francisco, upon Graduation I was sent to the USS Turner Joy DD951 as a Radar Electronic Technician, I spent about a year aboard the Turner Joy. I was then sent to the USS Worden in Boston, after Commissioning the ship we were sent to San Diego, then back to the Far East again for 6 months, most of which was spent off North Viet Nam. After I was Discharged, I returned to Vale and went to work for the BLM ater 4 1/2 years, I transferred to Lakeview Oregon, after 14 years there, I returned to Vale in 1983. I retired in 2004 after 42 years of Government Service. (Haven't missed the work a bit, just the people!)
